Fuck the American auto industry

I don’t like cars much, make me an electric car and I’ll start driving, because unlike the mACTional coalition I actually believe in global warming and don’t want to pollute the planet anymore than I have to. Now the bloated American car industry is on the rocks due to their own incompetence begging to be bailed out and seem to blame the Unions for the retirement deals they have cut their workers rather than their own limited imaginsations and their conspiracy to screw over the concept of the electric car. I say those fuckers don’t get one fucking cent from the American taxpayer unless every company taking cash agrees to only make electric cars.

i'm delighted to see that Formula One is losing teams ( $500m to race a car - what an obscenity ) and that teams like Subaru are dropping out of Rallying now.

It seems another dinosaur in this mix is so - called "motor sport " , still screaming around in noisy gas guzzling cars all too reminiscent of the 60's.

NOW would be a good time for the motor racing industry ( aka - an advertising arm of car companies ) to go back to drawing boards and start racing environmentally friendly cars ( not the greenwash shit they fob us off with at the moment ).
I think i'd probably be interested in watching electric or solar cars race but this shit we get at present beggars belief

LOL

I'd love to see you make that comment to a group of GM workers who stand to lose their livlihoods, medical benefits and homes.

How long do you think you'd last bomber before they beat you to death?

If the car industry spent as much time, effort and money on making cars more fuel efficient as they do making them go faster then we'd all have cars that could do 1000km on a litre of fuel.

I'd love to see you make that comment to a group of GM workers who stand to lose their livlihoods, medical benefits and homes.

How long do you think you'd last bomber before they beat you to death?

Stupid anon. they wouldn't lose their jobs as they would be making electric cars instead.

Bo ber, your hatred of the US is too much and already doing you harm.

It's time you export yourself to the workers' paradise: North Korea.

Anon - you sell cars or own a petrol station or something? The fact that a bunch of people will lose their jobs is unfortunate but shit happens. Unfortunately they are working in an industry based on greed and exploitation of resources. RJ

Love to see your face when you get fired dipshit.

"Unfortunately they are working in an industry based on greed and exploitation of resources."

This is so uber-retarded that I laughed and then laughed some more at your stupidity. EVERY industry is based on greed and exploitation of resources.

Shot Bomber. There's some dumbass stuff being posted on this thread;keep your eyes on the prize people. Auto industry needs to wake up & meet the demand for more energy efficient vehicles. That would be the smart business move- we need to replace our 2 litre family car this year ('95 vintage- I'm watching this one closely.

Anon - I aren't getting fired because I work for myself.

No, not every industry is based on greed and expolitation. Making money does not necessarily = greed. Yes, industry uses rersources, but not all exploit them. A fine distiction you may not comprehend. RJ

If you look up the definition of exploitation you will see that all industries do indeed exploit resources.

There needs to be a new paradigm in how cars are buit. Someone needs to make a cheap car, which is durable, and is cheap to run and fix. When the hard drive crashes in your computer, you just buy any new IDE hard drive from the computer store and there you go. When the alternator blows in your 1987 ford falcon, you have to find a 1987 ford falcon alternator. (You dont have to buy a 2001 Compaq Presario model alternator). The same thing really needs to apply for cars

2001 Compaq Presario model alternator = 2001 Compaq Presario model IDE hard drive

True enough millsy, although IDE has been replaced by SATA and as less and less IDE hard drives get made the price will go up until you ether get and adapter or upgrade. The older a piece of technology is, the less people continue making it and the harder it becomes to find adequate parts. I beleive this has already happened with older sdram verses DDR2
(PC memory being something you can't adapt, you ether upgrade the motherboard and probably processor too or you don't)
